2010 CMAS User's Forum Meeting
Thursday October 14, 2010
Friday Center, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Summary

This year the External Advisory Committee (EAC) meeting, which is normally scheduled on the day following the CMAS conference, took on a new format to include participation from community users and developers in the meeting. This "User's Forum" was held on Thursday, October 14, 2010 and was open to all interested community members. The meeting followed the agenda shown above and was attended by about 60 participants including members of EPA.

The CMAS director, Adel Hanna, introduced the User's Forum and acted as a moderator through the remainder of the morning session. After the introduction, Ken Schere, US EPA, presented new procedures for community members to use to provide code contributions and test cases for evaluation and possible incorporation into the upcoming releases of CMAQ. Ken also discussed some aspects of the 5-year strategic plan presented by ST Rao on the opening of the conference on Monday. Several short, ten minutes talks were presented by members of the CMAS developer and user community including perspective from academia (Odman), industry (Blewitt), the regulatory community (Boylan), and consulting (Wheeler).
