While we are excited to be back in person this year, we know that there is still some concern surrounding COVID-19 and large gatherings. The health and safety of our attendees is a top priority, and we wanted to share the steps and protocols we will be taking to make sure everyone is safe and healthy.
We are monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and following CDC guidelines as they are released. In meeting rooms and refreshment areas, masks will be preferred. In common areas they will be optional. A masking requirement may be implemented as we monitor recommendations from health officials and conditions as the meeting date approaches. We will have masks readily available at the check-in tables for your convenience. We will be wiping down microphones between speakers, as well as having hand sanitizer available at multiple locations throughout the conference venue. Our conference team will be asked to take rapid tests daily during the conference. Finally, we will continue to actively track COVID case numbers in the U.S. and North Carolina, and be able to pivot as needed.
While we very much respect that some may not join the conference this year, we hope this assuages some concerns, and look forward to meeting the CMAS community at the Friday Center this year. If you have any questions, please contact us at cmasconference@unc.edu.
